Benevolence Orchard
This project began with a solid design. From there, our collaborative team brought the space to life. This heirloom fruit orchard and medicinal herb farm sprang to life, incorporating polyculture planting, pollinator habitat, and passive water harvesting techniques. Visit the Benevolence Orchard farmstand during the week for some great local produce!
Backyard Food Forest
From grass lawn to Masonry Terraces, this Backyard Orchard space will continue to be more abundant each year, with less maintenance as the fruit trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers mature. Native Flowers and Evergreens, flagged by buff stone Boulders and Pathways, fill this Front yard with year-round interest.
Land Shaping & Revegetation
Our team provided finish grading across the property after construction of this LEED certified home and barn. We utilized excess soil to create Terraces & Raingardens, while amending and preparing the Soil for Seeding with a diverse native prairie mix. We installed Masonry Pathways, and Rain Water Harvesting features. The new Greywater & Freshwater Irrigation systems support the landscape and pasture revegetation effort. And the Landscape is thriving with hundreds of Perennial Trees, Shrubs, and Flowers and an abundant Garden.

Agricultural Irrigation & Efficiency
This hundred acre ranch has historically raised cattle for decades on flood irrigated pastures. With ditch improvements and a complete irrigation system, they will be able to grow abundant hay along with diverse crops in their future orchard, lavender plots, and vegetable production. With our support, they are transitioning towards patterns of Regenerative Grazing and Silvopasture to improve pasture health.
Water Harvesting Slope
Noticing the persistent Erosion problems coming down this slope, our team intervened with a series of masonry check dams. The walls created catch basins to slow, spread, and sink any natural water flows, while irrigating a pollinator and native garden for the on-site bee hives.
Fire Prevention & Stormwater Management
The landscape for this off-grid mountain house utilized Water Harvesting Features and BioChar techniques to mitigate fire danger, prevent erosion, and irrigate an Alpine Garden.
Controlled Environment Agriculture
The Backyard Geodome Experiment has been an ongoing experiment in Climate Stabilization and Food Security. Manufactured from scratch with care and attention to detail, the first draft has been revised and upgraded for Round 2. Stay tuned for the incorporation of Arduino Controls, Earth Plasters, and of course state of the art Aquaponics Food Production.
Our team works closely with The Aquaponics Source to provide the best greenhouse farming solutions. Here you can see some our work at The Growhaus and some home production systems that we have built throughout the years.
Jack’s Solar Garden
Solar energy produced in the heart of Colorado. Our team engaged in a Living Fence surrounding the solar array. This perennial planting of over 3000 plants will support wildlife habitat, while producing food for the local community. The solar array will create a 1.2 MW community solar garden—enough to power over 300 homes. Jack’s Solar Garden will be a model for farmers along the Front Range on how to produce renewable energy while improving agricultural production via agrivoltaics.
Urban Gardens
Connect with the natural world in urban spaces. These sleek wicking beds utilize a fraction of the water of conventional raised beds. They offer a low maintenance garden that can provide fresh vegetables & herbs in your home.
